Virat Kohli Endorses Rajat Patidar as RCB's New Captain
Kohli Supports Patidar's Leadership at RCB
Virat Kohli has expressed his confidence in Rajat Patidar, the newly appointed captain of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), stating that he believes Patidar will lead the team effectively for an extended period. Kohli, a stalwart of RCB since the IPL's launch in 2008, has captained the franchise for over ten years and continues to be its prominent figure.
Patidar takes over the captaincy from Faf du Plessis, who has joined the Delhi Capitals this season. Kohli remarked, "This guy is going to lead you for a long time. He is going to do a great job. He has got everything that is required to succeed."
Despite RCB's history of not clinching an IPL title, Kohli remains optimistic. "It feels amazing to be back. The excitement and happiness are like every other season. I have been here for 18 years and absolutely love RCB. We have an amazing squad this time around. A lot of talent in the team. I am personally very excited about this season," Kohli shared.
This season marks Kohli's first IPL after stepping away from T20 Internationals. Patidar expressed his pride in leading RCB, stating, "Legends like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle have played for RCB. I grew up watching them. From the start, I have loved the franchise a lot. I am happier that I got a new role to lead one of the biggest teams in T20 cricket."
