Elon Musk has talked about banning Apple devices from his companies if the company goes ahead with its plans to bring OpenAI tech to the OS level. He shared this warning through a post on X, which says, "It's an unacceptable security breach," Musk, who is CEO of electric-vehicle maker Tesla and rocket maker SpaceX and owner of social media company X, said in a post on X. He also mentioned that visitors who bring Apple devices to his companies will be asked to check their iPhones at security where they will be stored in cages.

"And visitors will have to check in their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in Faraday cages," he said.

Apple and OpenAI have confirmed their deal that brings ChatGPT 4o to iOS, macOS and iPadOS with certain limitations. Apple says you can also link your paid OpenAI membership to get more benefits and access to these devices later this year. Musk has this tendency to overblow certain things and the decision to ban Apple devices added to his list. The company has talked extensively about keeping user data private, even as they link it to its devices through OpenAI. However, Musk feels that OpenAI will use its shady practices and try to source your data behind Apple's back.

Apple widely uses in-house hardware and chips to keep data on the device, while some other applications will be processed by cloud servers, especially when it adopts other third-party AI models in the Apple Intelligence ecosystem. Musk pointed out that Apple should resort to building its own AI model instead of partnering with companies like OpenAI. These quotes from Musk are hardly surprising, as we all know his public sentiments and hatred towards OpenAI and Sam Altman. Musk sued OpenAI, which he co-founded in 2015, and its CEO Sam Altman in early March, claiming they had abandoned the startup's original mission of developing AI for the benefit of humanity, not for profit. He has also founded his own startup, xAI, to challenge OpenAI and create an alternative to the viral chatbot ChatGPT.
