Update on Air India Plane Crash: Recovery Efforts Continue

Recovery Update from Ahmedabad Civil Hospital
As of now, a total of 270 bodies have been transported to the civil hospital in Ahmedabad following the Air India plane crash. Medical professionals at the hospital provided this update on Saturday. Initially, officials had reported that the death toll was 265.
In the last 24 hours, the city's fire department has recovered one additional body along with several body parts from the crash site.
Identification Process Underway
Dr. Dhaval Gameti, president of the Junior Doctors Association at BJ Medical College, stated that approximately 270 bodies have been brought to the civil hospital from the crash site. The identification of the deceased is ongoing, with DNA samples being matched, and the bodies will be handed over to relatives once the process is complete.
Details of the Crash Incident
The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) reported that in the past 24 hours, they have recovered human remains and one body from the crash site located in the Meghani Nagar area. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner (AI 171), carrying 242 passengers and crew members, crashed shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday afternoon, landing in the vicinity of a medical hostel and its canteen.
