Security Forces Engage in Encounter with Militants in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir

In a remote forested area of Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir, an encounter took place between security forces and militants. The army confirmed this incident, which occurred during a joint operation by the army and police in the Bihali region of Basantgarh. A spokesperson from the White Knight Corps based in Jammu stated, "Contact has been established with the militants. The operation is ongoing." The White Knight Corps also confirmed the encounter through a social media post.
The operation was referred to as "Operation Bihali," and it was noted that a joint mission was launched based on specific intelligence in the Bihali area of Basantgarh. The statement further mentioned that contact with the militants had been established and that the operation was still in progress. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, army personnel opened fire after observing suspicious activities near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri district, while security forces conducted search operations at over 12 locations in Poonch, Samba, and Kathua districts, as reported by officials.
Officials indicated that vigilant soldiers in the Chingas area of the Keri sector in Rajouri noticed suspicious activities involving three to four individuals concealed among dense trees.
The soldiers fired more than two dozen rounds and also initiated a search operation, deploying drones in the process. However, no leads on the suspicious individuals were found. Following reports of suspicious activities, a joint search operation was launched at 6 AM in the Surankote and Mendhar areas of Poonch district by the local police's special operations group, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the National Rifles.
