NIA Conducts Raids Across Kashmir Targeting Terrorist Networks

NIA's Extensive Raids in Kashmir
On Thursday, June 5, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) executed searches at 32 locations throughout Kashmir as part of an ongoing investigation into terrorist plots aimed at destabilizing the region, allegedly supported by Pakistan-based banned organizations. According to the NIA, these sites were linked to hybrid terrorists and overground workers associated with groups such as The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front of Jammu and Kashmir (ULFJK), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, PAAF, and others connected to banned terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM), and Al-Badr.
Details of the Investigation
The NIA stated that the individuals and premises searched were involved in facilitating terrorist activities, including aiding terrorists, and collecting and distributing sticky bombs, magnetic bombs, IEDs, funds, narcotics, and weapons. The investigation revealed that these organizations, supported by their leaders in Pakistan, are allegedly radicalizing local youth and organizing ground workers to orchestrate acts of terror and violence, undermining peace and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.
Use of Technology in Terrorism
The agency further noted that terrorists based in Pakistan are utilizing social media and online applications to promote and incite terror. They have been employing drones to deliver weapons, ammunition, explosives, and narcotics to their operatives and cadres in the Kashmir Valley. During the raids, the NIA recovered two live cartridges, a spent bullet casing, and a bayonet. Additionally, a significant amount of incriminating data and documents were found on various digital devices.
