New Delhi, July 3: Purani Dilli 6, a semi-finalist in the 2024 Delhi Premier League (DPL), has confirmed the retention of their star wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant, for the upcoming season. Pant will continue to serve as a marquee player for the team.
During the 2024 DPL, Purani Dilli 6 had a commendable run, demonstrating strong performances throughout the league. Unfortunately, their semi-final match was interrupted by rain, ending their campaign prematurely. With Pant remaining a key player, the team aims to enhance its competitiveness for the 2025 season.
Pant expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "The DPL is a fantastic platform for emerging talent to display their abilities, and I commend Rohan Jaitley and the DDCA for their efforts in organizing this league. Numerous players, including Digvesh Rathi and Priyansh Arya, have benefited from the opportunities provided by the DPL."

In related news, the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced the introduction of two new men's franchises for the Delhi Premier League. The Outer Delhi and New Delhi teams will make their debut in the 2025 season, increasing the league's total from six to eight teams.
The player auctions for the upcoming season are set to occur in the national capital on July 6 for men and July 7 for women, reinforcing the DPL's commitment to gender-inclusive cricket.
Season 2 of the DPL will take place at the renowned Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The complete match schedule and dates will be announced following the player auctions.
