KTM Set to Launch All-Electric E-Duke with Impressive Features

Introduction to the E-Duke

KTM is gearing up to introduce a brand new electric variant of its Duke motorcycle, known as the E-Duke. Recent reports indicate that a prototype of this model has been spotted in a nearly finished state, marking a significant step towards its production. This follows an earlier concept version that was presented during an investor meeting by Pierer several years ago.

Prototype Unveiling

The prototype was showcased by ROK Bagoros, who is closely associated with KTM. A video featuring the prototype has gained traction online, filmed at the company's headquarters in Mattighofen, Austria.

Specifications of the E-Duke

While official specifications are yet to be released, it is anticipated that the E-Duke will feature a 10KW electric motor paired with a 5.5 kWh battery pack. This setup is expected to provide an engaging riding experience, with a potential range of around 100 kilometers on a single charge. The bike is likely to share its chassis with the existing Duke model, although the added weight from the battery may result in a heavier overall design compared to the current Duke 390.

Design and Performance Enhancements

Although the bike has not been officially unveiled, numerous high-resolution images circulating online suggest that KTM has meticulously designed the E-Duke for optimal performance. The battery is strategically positioned low to maintain a low center of gravity, while the space typically occupied by the fuel tank has been repurposed for air passage, ensuring the battery remains at an ideal temperature.

The E-Duke boasts a modern and futuristic design, featuring fuel tank extensions and a headlamp that draws inspiration from the 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke. As a concept, it showcases various innovative elements that may not all make it to the final production model, reflecting the brand's forward-thinking approach.

If the E-Duke moves into production, it is expected to be manufactured by Bajaj in India. Following a challenging financial period, diversifying its product lineup could help KTM regain its former prestige in the market.
