Jaishankar's Stark Warning: India Ready to Strike Deep into Pakistan Over Terrorism

India's Firm Stance on Terrorism

Brussels: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has issued a stern warning that India will retaliate decisively against Pakistan if provoked by terrorist activities. He emphasized that any barbaric acts, such as the recent Pahalgam attack, will not go unanswered.

Currently on a European tour, Jaishankar highlighted that Pakistan is openly training thousands of terrorists and sending them into India. He stated, "We refuse to accept this situation. Our message is clear: if you persist with such heinous acts, there will be consequences targeting terrorist organizations and their leaders."

He further asserted, "We will not hesitate to act, even if it means going deep into Pakistan."

Tensions have surged between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack on April 22, which resulted in 26 fatalities. In response, India conducted precision strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7.

The military confrontations lasted four days, concluding with an agreement to cease hostilities after discussions between the military operations directors of both nations on May 10.

Jaishankar reiterated that the fundamental issues driving the conflict remain unchanged, stating, "Pakistan continues to utilize terrorism as a tool of state policy, which is the crux of the problem."

When questioned about the ongoing tensions, he affirmed, "If the commitment to terrorism is a source of conflict, then yes, it absolutely is."

Regarding military losses, Jaishankar mentioned that relevant authorities would provide updates when appropriate. He noted that India's air force and missile strikes had caused significant damage to the Pakistani Air Force, compelling Pakistan to seek peace.

"The effectiveness of our Rafale jets and other systems is evident in the destruction of key airfields in Pakistan," he remarked, adding that images of the damaged runways and hangars are available online.

During his week-long visit to Europe, Jaishankar plans to engage with leaders from the European Union, Belgium, and France to strengthen bilateral relations and reaffirm India's commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.
