Turbulence Encountered During Flight

Passengers aboard IndiGo flight 6E 6313, traveling from Raipur to Delhi, faced a tense situation as the aircraft hit turbulence caused by a duststorm. Just as the plane was nearing its landing at Delhi airport, the pilot opted to ascend again to ensure safety.

Wind Speeds Reached 80 km/h

After circling in the air for a while, the aircraft successfully landed at Delhi airport. The pilot informed passengers that wind speeds had reached up to 80 km/h, leading to the decision to abort the landing until conditions improved.

Weather Conditions in Delhi

On the same day, Delhi experienced rainfall accompanied by strong winds, particularly in the southern regions. This weather was attributed to a cloud cluster moving east-southeast, as reported by the Meteorological Department.

The rain provided a welcome break from the heat, with temperatures in the capital exceeding 39°C earlier that day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded maximum temperatures of 39.7°C in Safdarjung, 39.5°C in Ayanagar, 39.4°C in Lodhi Road, and 39.1°C in Palam.

Warnings have been issued for at least eight districts, including South, South East, New Delhi, East, Central, Shahdara, and North East, with wind speeds potentially reaching 80 km/h.

Additionally, advisories have been released for the South West, West, and North West districts, cautioning residents about light rains, thunderstorms, and lightning.
