Indian Army Responds to Cross-Border Attacks
New Delhi: The Indian Army has unveiled a video showcasing its recent strike on a Pakistani military installation, a direct response to cross-border firing from Pakistani forces amid rising tensions.
While the video does not specify the exact location of the targeted military post, it illustrates the Army's decisive action against ongoing ceasefire violations.
According to an official statement from the Indian Army, Pakistan initiated multiple drone and artillery attacks along the Western Border during the night of May 8 and 9, leading to numerous ceasefire breaches along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, which were effectively countered.
"The Indian Army is dedicated to protecting the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Any malicious actions will be met with appropriate force," the statement emphasized.
The Indian Army reiterated that any malicious actions would be met with force. Reports indicate that several Pakistani military posts along the LoC were neutralized during this operation.
On the night of the incident, India successfully thwarted Pakistan's attempts to target military installations in Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur, and other areas.
India's countermeasures not only destroyed drones and missiles but also downed Pakistan's Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft, delivering a significant setback to Pakistan's aerial surveillance and battlefield coordination.
The recent surge in Pakistani artillery fire along the Line of Control and the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan followed India's targeted strikes on Pakistani air defense systems in several cities, including a successful operation in Lahore.
The Ministry of Defence has reiterated that any assault on Indian military sites will provoke a "suitable response." Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that Pakistan must decide whether it wishes to de-escalate tensions with India, following New Delhi's response to the initial escalation triggered by the Pahalgam massacre.
