Details of the Encounters

On Thursday, security forces killed three terrorists from Jaish-e-Mohammed during an encounter in the Tral area of South Kashmir. This marked the second encounter in the region within 48 hours, following the elimination of three terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba on Tuesday. Based on intelligence, the operation in Tral led to the deaths of terrorists Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Nazir Wani, and Yawar Ahmed Bhat. Drones were utilized to locate the hideouts during the operation.

Public Advisory

Authorities have urged the public not to share images from the gunfire incidents. A police spokesperson emphasized that sharing such content could inadvertently promote extremist propaganda and hinder ongoing investigations. Residents are also advised to stay away from the scene of the encounters. Among those killed on Tuesday in Shopian was local commander Shahid Kutte, along with other terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba. Additionally, a Pakistani terrorist was neutralized in Handwara in March.
