How PM Modi's Leadership Has Transformed Lives: Insights from Odisha's CM

Odisha CM Highlights Modi's Impact on Poverty Reduction
Bhubaneswar: On Tuesday, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for significantly improving the lives of millions, noting that over 27 crore Indians have been lifted out of extreme poverty in the past 11 years.
These comments were made during a press briefing celebrating two significant events: the 11th anniversary of Modi's government at the national level on June 9 and the first anniversary of Majhi's administration on June 12.
Majhi referenced a recent World Bank report indicating a dramatic decrease in the percentage of individuals living in extreme poverty in India, which fell from 27.1% to 5.3% over the last 13 years.
He stated, "This signifies that nearly 27 crore people have escaped the clutches of extreme poverty. This single statistic illustrates the extent of development achieved under Modi's leadership."
Majhi emphasized the necessity of a strong commitment to public service, highlighting Modi's journey to leadership.
He recalled that Modi served as Chief Minister four times without holding a ministerial position, eventually ascending to the role of Prime Minister.
Modi first took the oath of office on May 26, 2014. Majhi remarked, "This year marks the first anniversary of Modi's third term, a time for reflection and renewed dedication."
He commended several landmark decisions made during Modi's tenure, including the abrogation of Article 370.
Majhi described this as a pivotal moment for national unity, effectively integrating Jammu and Kashmir into India both legally and administratively.
Additionally, he noted that Modi's policies have positively impacted Muslim women through the abolition of triple talaq, the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) under the 'One Nation, One Tax' initiative, and the launch of the National Education Policy (NEP) aimed at modernizing and democratizing education.
The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of the Jan Dhan Yojana in promoting financial inclusion by integrating millions into the banking system.
He stated, "The Modi administration has established new standards in welfare initiatives, infrastructure growth, digital advancements, and foreign relations."
Majhi also mentioned successful welfare programs like Ayushman Bharat, which have greatly benefited farmers and the underprivileged.
Reflecting on national security, he noted that as Modi's third term progressed, India intensified its efforts against terrorism.
Majhi asserted, "Today, India leads the global fight against terrorism. 'Operation Sindoor' symbolizes our dedication to national security and the dignity of countless Indian mothers and sisters. This is why the nation resonates with the slogan - 'Modi Hai, Toh Mumkin Hai.'"
