Haryana Assembly Budget Session: Congress MLA Geeta Bhukkal Raises Concerns Over Jhajjar-Bahadurgarh Road

The ninth day of the Haryana Assembly's budget session has officially begun. On Thursday, the session commenced with the question hour. Congress MLA Geeta Bhukkal was the first to raise a query regarding the Jhajjar to Bahadurgarh road, highlighting its deteriorating condition. She pointed out that this is the fourth time she is bringing up the issue of poor roads in the assembly.

Concerns Over Road Safety

Bhukkal emphasized that the 19-kilometer stretch is surrounded by dense populations, leading to frequent accidents and fatalities. She insisted that mere verbal responses from the minister are insufficient. In response, Minister Ranbir Gangwa stated that work on the road has already commenced, and funds have been allocated. He invited her to visit the site to see the materials on location.

Progress on Road Construction

Earlier, Minister Rao Narbir Singh addressed Bhukkal's concerns, explaining that he had previously announced the road's construction, which was delayed due to land availability issues. He urged her to facilitate land availability through the e-land portal to expedite the process. Minister Arvind Sharma added that the Chief Minister has taken note of the situation, and work has now started from the Jhajjar side.

Appointment Letters for Doctors

In response to a question regarding the appointment of Ayurvedic doctors in Loharu, Health Minister Aarti Rao confirmed that five medical officers were appointed today, with six positions still vacant. She mentioned that over 500 appointment letters have been issued as part of a plan to hire 777 doctors.

Discrepancies in Work Progress

During a discussion on sewer line installation in Adampur, Minister Ranbir Gangwa reported that the project, initiated in 2023 by Jai Shri Balaji Company, is 70% complete, with a budget of 34 crore rupees. However, MLA Satyaprakash contested this claim, asserting that only 30 to 40% of the work has been accomplished, highlighting the seriousness of the issue.

Concerns Over Pond Beautification Project

Congress MLA Renu Bala raised concerns about the 16 crore rupee expenditure on the beautification of ponds under the Amrit Sarovar scheme in Sadhoura, alleging mismanagement by officials. She called for an investigation into the matter. Minister Shruti Chaudhary responded that she would initiate an inquiry if a written complaint is submitted.

Need for Universities in Mewat

Congress MLA Maman Khan highlighted the absence of universities in Nuh, prompting Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda to explain that several universities are located within a 35 to 40-kilometer radius. He noted that the land identified for a new university is unsuitable. Khan argued that with a population of over 1.25 million, the need for educational institutions is critical.

ITIs to Be Relocated

Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam addressed a query regarding the relocation of the ITI institution in Indri, confirming that classes are currently held in Karnal. He assured that the relocation would be completed within two months.

Call for Local Oversight

Congress MLA Balram Dangi expressed concerns about the poor condition of roads in his constituency, questioning the minister's claims of ongoing work. Minister Ranbir Gangwa assured that all damaged roads would be repaired within six months and suggested that Dangi should inspect his constituency to verify the situation.
