IPL 2025 Begins with a Thrilling Matchup

The Indian Premier League 2025 is set to commence on March 22, featuring a highly anticipated match between the reigning champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

As the tournament approaches, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh shared his thoughts on the intense rivalry between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI).

He remarked, “The CSK vs MI clash is akin to the India-Pakistan rivalry in the IPL; their supporters are incredibly passionate. Both teams have had numerous star players, and defeating CSK or MI guarantees your team significant media attention. It’s a high-stakes, exhilarating match filled with excitement,” said Harbhajan Singh, a JioStar expert.

Additionally, he commended Riyan Parag, who has stepped in as captain for Rajasthan Royals while Sanju Samson recovers from injury. “Every season, we see young talents emerge, scoring runs and taking wickets. Riyan Parag is someone to watch; he has been appointed captain of Rajasthan Royals, and his potential is immense. I look forward to seeing him mature into a player who can lead his team to victories. I’m also eager to observe the new spinners introduced this season and their approach to the game,” he added.

Both MI and CSK boast a dedicated fanbase, eagerly awaiting MS Dhoni's return in the iconic yellow jersey. In their last encounter, CSK triumphed over MI by 20 runs, with Rohit Sharma scoring a century and Matheesha Pathirana claiming four wickets, earning him the Player of the Match award. Notably, MS Dhoni contributed 20 runs off just four balls, which coincidentally matched CSK's winning margin.
