How to Play NYT Connections

In NYT Connections, players receive a grid filled with words and must identify the hidden connections among them. Consider synonyms, antonyms, and word families to solve the puzzle. If you encounter difficulties, hints are available within the game. You can also track your daily progress and challenge friends to see who can solve the most puzzles.

A new puzzle is released daily at midnight, accessible via the NYT website or app. The objective is to organize 16 words into four groups of four based on their connections. Each group is color-coded, with yellow typically being the easiest and purple the most challenging, often involving wordplay.

Select four words you believe are related and click the ‘Submit’ button. Incorrect guesses will cost you a life, while correct groupings may prompt a message indicating you're close to success. However, if you make four mistakes, the game ends.
