Tel Aviv: In a significant escalation, Iran initiated a fresh series of missile strikes on Israel early Monday, activating air raid sirens nationwide. Emergency services reported that projectiles impacted various locations in northern and central Israel, resulting in injuries to at least 67 individuals.

Explosions, likely caused by Israel's defense systems intercepting the missiles, reverberated through Tel Aviv just before dawn, marking the fourth consecutive day of conflict between the two nations. Thick black smoke billowed over the coastal city.

In Petah Tikva, a central city near Tel Aviv, Iranian missiles struck a residential building, damaging concrete walls, shattering windows, and affecting several apartments. Rescuers were still searching through the debris, and no immediate casualty figures were available.

Israel's Magen David Adom emergency service reported treating 67 individuals who were evacuated from four different missile-struck locations, with most injuries categorized as moderate or mild.

According to Iranian state television, the country launched at least 100 missiles at Israel, indicating a refusal to heed international calls for de-escalation as it retaliated against Israel's recent surprise attack on Tehran's advancing nuclear program and military leadership.

This latest wave of attacks follows a weekend of escalating confrontations between Israel and Iran, raising concerns about a potential broader regional conflict.

On Sunday, Iran accused Israel of targeting oil refineries, killing the intelligence chief of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, and conducting intensive aerial assaults on populated areas, which reportedly increased the death toll from Israel's operations to 224. Health officials also noted that 1,277 individuals were injured, without specifying whether they were military personnel or civilians.

Israel claimed that Iran had launched over 270 missiles since Friday, with 22 managing to breach the country's advanced multi-layered air defenses, wreaking havoc in residential neighborhoods and resulting in 14 fatalities and 390 injuries as of late Sunday.
