DMRC Launches Priority Frisking for Special Passengers to Enhance Travel Experience

New Initiative for Special Category Passengers
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), in partnership with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), has introduced a priority frisking scheme aimed at enhancing travel experiences for special category passengers across all Metro stations.
This initiative is designed to assist individuals such as the specially-abled, pregnant women, mothers with infants, senior citizens, and those with injuries, as stated by DMRC in a recent post on X. The primary goal is to facilitate a smooth and convenient travel experience, allowing these passengers to navigate security checks with ease.
Eligibility Verification Process
In instances where there is uncertainty regarding a passenger's eligibility for this service, security personnel may ask for relevant documentation to confirm their status. DMRC is collaborating closely with CISF and security teams to ensure the effective implementation of this priority frisking initiative, along with issuing necessary guidelines for a seamless experience.
DMRC has consistently prioritized accessibility for individuals with disabilities and senior citizens by providing comprehensive services throughout the metro network, including designated seating.
Commuter-Friendly Facilities
All DMRC facilities are designed to be commuter-friendly, featuring amenities such as tactile paths, wheelchairs, and other support systems to guarantee a smooth travel experience. This initiative further demonstrates DMRC's commitment to social responsibility, setting a benchmark for public transportation systems nationwide.
Training Program on Advanced Metro Operations
Recently, DMRC, in collaboration with the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), hosted a pioneering three-day training program titled 'Advanced Metro Operations and Maintenance' from May 19 to 21 at the DMRC Academy in Shastri Park, Delhi. This program gathered renowned trainers and thought leaders in public transport to share innovative knowledge and best practices in metro operations.
Focusing on transformative technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, IoT, and Machine Learning, the program aimed to equip metro professionals with advanced tools and practical skills to enhance innovation, safety, and efficiency in urban rail systems. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, alongside Mr. Manuj Singhal, Director of Infrastructure, and Ms. Rupa Nandy, Head of UITP, India. During the opening session, Dr. Kumar emphasized that the collaboration with UITP underscores DMRC's dedication to excellence and innovation in metro rail operations, stating, 'This training program will empower participants with the latest global insights, helping shape the future of sustainable and intelligent urban mobility.'
