Call for Unity: Aditya Thackeray Urged to Meet Raj Thackeray for Alliance Talks

Political Alliance Discussions Suggested

Prakash Mahajan, a leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), has stated that if the Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray is genuinely interested in forming an alliance, then Aditya Thackeray should take the initiative to meet Raj Thackeray.

On Wednesday, Mahajan emphasized that a leader of significant stature from Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena should approach MNS chief Raj Thackeray to discuss the potential coalition. He remarked that sending a junior leader for negotiations would likely result in Raj Thackeray responding with a junior representative as well.

Mahajan expressed, “If an alliance is to be formed, Aditya Thackeray must step forward and understand Raj Saheb's perspectives. Should Aditya Thackeray engage in discussions, both parties will recognize the seriousness of the situation. There is a sentiment among the Marathi people to unite.”

Aditya Thackeray, the son of former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, is also the nephew of Raj Thackeray. On Tuesday, Aditya had mentioned that if anyone wishes to come together for the welfare of Maharashtra, “we will also take them along.”

Mahajan noted that there is nothing wrong with the Thackeray brothers, who have been politically divided, coming together for this initiative. He stated, “We (MNS) attempted this in 2014 and 2017. If they are serious, there should be no issue in leading this matter.”

Both Uddhav and Raj Thackeray have hinted at the possibility of reconciliation, suggesting they might overlook “minor issues” and could shake hands after nearly two decades of bitter rivalry.
