Tragic Bridge Collapse Near Kundamala Village

On Sunday, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police reported a devastating incident where a bridge over the Indrayani River collapsed close to Kundamala village. Authorities fear that approximately six individuals may have lost their lives, while between five to six others have been successfully rescued.



The collapse occurred in Kundmala, a well-known tourist spot that attracts many visitors during the monsoon season. Reports indicate that around 15 to 20 people were on the bridge when it gave way, leading to their plunge into the river, where they were swept away by the strong current. This tragic event unfolded in the Maval region.


According to reports from a media channel, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to initiate a large-scale rescue operation. They have managed to save eight individuals, while two women remain trapped beneath the bridge.
