Mandi: Nestled in the Janjehli region of Mandi district, the Biodiversity Park at Bhulah has quickly become a popular destination for travelers, seamlessly merging spirituality, natural beauty, and adventure.
Located at the sacred base of Shikari Devi, this park provides visitors with an unforgettable experience amidst the tranquil Himalayan scenery.
Established by the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, the park is garnering acclaim for its unspoiled environment and is viewed as a successful example of the state's eco-tourism initiatives. Each year, numerous devotees flock to the revered Shikari Mata Temple, and the biodiversity park now enhances their spiritual journey.
Among the park's standout features are four stunning treehouses nestled within dense deodar forests. These eco-friendly lodgings blend modern amenities with rustic aesthetics, accommodating eight to ten guests per treehouse. A night in these treetop havens, surrounded by nature and starlit skies, is priced at just Rs 1,500 per day, making it an affordable adventure.
The park's expansive green hills, towering cedar trees, and open skies have led to comparisons with the picturesque landscapes of Kashmir. Visitors enjoy not only the peace and natural beauty but also nurseries of rare and indigenous plant species cultivated by the Forest Department to protect local biodiversity.
Trained caretakers appointed by the Forest Department manage the park, ensuring cleanliness, visitor safety, and ecological balance. Forest Range Officer Mahender Singh remarked, “Tourists from various parts of Himachal and beyond are now visiting this park. The treehouses have gained immense popularity for overnight stays, providing an ideal setting to appreciate the forest and its serene atmosphere.”
With its unique blend of spiritual importance, eco-friendly facilities, and immersive nature experiences, the Bhulah Biodiversity Park exemplifies how responsible tourism can flourish in the hills of Himachal Pradesh.
