Murder Investigation Launched After Boy's Body Found

Anandapur: A tragic incident unfolded in Odisha's Keonjhar district when a 14-year-old boy was discovered dead in a forest near Raighati village on Thursday, four days after he was last seen leaving his home with a friend.

The victim, identified as Gusa, the son of Silay from Raighati village, had gone missing after being invited by his friend, Kundia, to visit his sister's residence on Sunday, according to local sources.

While Kundia returned home the following day, Gusa did not. His lifeless body was found on Wednesday, approximately two kilometers from the village, in a wooded area. Locals who stumbled upon the body alerted Gusa's family, who subsequently notified the authorities.

Law enforcement arrived at the scene, retrieved the body, and sent it for an autopsy. Following a complaint from the victim's family, police detained Kundia and initiated a formal investigation into the suspected homicide.

Gusa's family revealed that he and Kundia had previously worked together in Pondicherry a few months back. During that time, Gusa had purchased a mobile phone, which allegedly led to a conflict when Kundia attempted to conceal it from him. Although the matter seemed to have been resolved, the family believes that unresolved feelings may have contributed to the tragic outcome.

Authorities are currently examining the mobile phone dispute as a potential motive for the murder.
