In the Aurai area of Bhadohi, law enforcement has apprehended a man accused of raping a 40-year-old woman. This information was confirmed by a police official on Friday.


Details of the Complaint

According to Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik, the woman's husband filed a complaint stating that on the morning of May 2, while his wife was feeding their livestock, the suspect, Ramashankar, approached her from behind, covered her mouth with a cloth, and forcibly took her to an isolated house.


Allegations Against the Accused

The Superintendent reported that once there, the accused allegedly raped the victim. The complaint also includes allegations that Ramashankar threatened the woman with harm to her husband and children.


Legal Action Taken

Based on the complaint, a case was registered against Ramashankar on May 11 under sections 64(1) (rape) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. The 40-year-old suspect, who had been evading capture for a month, was arrested on Thursday evening at his residence and will be presented in court on Friday for further legal proceedings.
