Mumbai: Renowned Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who is gearing up for the release of the much-anticipated film Housefull 5, has shared his thoughts on the recent controversy regarding Paresh Rawal's departure from Hera Pheri 3.

During the trailer launch event for Housefull 5 in Mumbai on Tuesday, Akshay was questioned about the situation. Reports indicated that he had filed a lawsuit against Paresh for ₹25 crore after the actor expressed his discontent with the character of Babu Bhaiyya, a pivotal role in the Hera Pheri series.

When a journalist referred to the situation as 'foolish,' Akshay expressed his disapproval of the term used for such a respected actor.

He responded, stating, “First of all, I don’t appreciate the use of the word ‘foolish’ when referring to my co-star. That’s inappropriate. I have collaborated with him for 32 years, and we share a strong friendship. He is an exceptional actor whom I greatly respect.”

Akshay also mentioned that he would limit his comments on the film and Paresh's exit since the issue is currently under legal review.

“Whatever the situation is, I believe this isn’t the right venue to discuss it. It’s a serious matter that will be resolved in court, so I won’t comment further,” he added.

The controversy began when reports surfaced claiming that Paresh Rawal had exited Hera Pheri 3, disappointing many fans of the franchise. Following this, Akshay, who not only stars in the film but also produces it after acquiring the rights from Firoz Nadiadwala, initiated legal action against the veteran actor.

Paresh clarified that his decision to leave was not due to creative disagreements with his long-time collaborator Priyadarshan. He emphasized his respect for the filmmaker and explained that his choice was a well-considered one, as the character no longer resonated with his artistic vision.
