Legal Issues Arise for Hera Pheri 3

In a surprising twist for one of Bollywood's cherished franchises, Hera Pheri 3 is now embroiled in legal complications. Paresh Rawal, who has been a pivotal figure in the series as Babu Bhaiya, has received a legal notice amounting to Rs 25 crore from Akshay Kumar's production company, Cape of Good Films, following his abrupt departure from the film.

Rawal took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify the situation, stating, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest.”

This statement came after reports surfaced about a legal notice issued by Akshay Kumar's team, claiming damages due to Rawal's exit. Pooja Tidke, Joint Managing Partner at Parinam Law Associates, expressed concerns, stating, “I believe there will be significant legal repercussions. This has undoubtedly affected the franchise. We have informed him that there are numerous legal implications involved, including expenses related to the cast, crew, senior actors, logistics, and the trailer shoot.”

Tidke elaborated that approximately three and a half minutes of the film had already been filmed, along with a promotional trailer. Contracts were signed, funds were allocated, and schedules were confirmed. According to reports, “Mr. Rawal had publicly confirmed his involvement in the film on January 30, 2025, through a post on his official X.com account. He further solidified his commitment by signing a Term Sheet on March 27, 2025, for which he accepted a partial payment of Rs 11,00,000/- as his fee.”

In a recent update, sources from the industry revealed that Rawal has already returned his signing amount of ₹11 lakhs, along with an additional 15% interest.
