Shahid Kapoor's Battle for Action: The Actor's Brave Words on Pursuing His Action Hero Dreams Amidst Challenges

After 20 years in the Hindi film industry, Shahid Kapoor is finally all set to make his debut as an action hero in Bloody Daddy, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The film is gearing up to premiere at Jio Cinemas on June 9 and will be the first time the director will collaborate with the actor. Ali asserts that action films make heroes look good on screen. “When you come in with the wet hair look, flame thrower in hand it looks great. It's a beautiful style and who wouldn't mind looking good on screen? Ali smiled.
Shahid Kapoor asked who will make action films?
Shahid insists that he wants to do more action films in the near future, but feels that there are not many directors for this genre in India. “Of course, I want to take action but who will do it? The minute I found the right partner, that's what happened. I don't want to force anything into the universe. There is a right time and place for everything. After working for 20 years, you want to invest your time in something you are proud of,” he admits.
Ali Abbas Zafar says, 'I want to create ambitious characters
Ali insists that it makes him happy to see his actors look good on screen. “I grew up with Hindi and international cinema. All the films of that era - from Scarface to Taxi Driver, Sholay and Dewar - the heroes were well presented. They are very ambitious on screen. Those scenes stay with you. The idea is not to pay blind homage to the films but to create an aspirational character on screen. Somewhere, I like that cinema,” he keeps short.
