Jaydev Unadkat's Bowling Strategy Shines in Rain-Impacted IPL Clash

Unadkat's Key Dismissal of KL Rahul

In a thrilling IPL encounter on Tuesday, Jaydev Unadkat once again outsmarted KL Rahul, showcasing his bowling prowess. The left-arm pacer’s strategic change in angle played a crucial role as Sunrisers Hyderabad made an early impact in a match affected by rain.

Delhi Capitals found themselves in trouble at 6 for 2 when Rahul entered the game at No. 4, aiming to stabilize the innings. However, his time at the crease was cut short after just 14 balls. In the eighth over, Unadkat switched to bowling around the wicket, successfully enticing Rahul to edge the ball behind.

“Having bowled to KL previously, I believe I have a better chance when I change my angle. I wouldn’t label it a weakness for Rahul, but as a bowler, it’s essential to have a strategy, and altering the angle is one of those tactics,” Unadkat remarked post-match.

This tactic proved effective on a tricky pitch in Hyderabad. Unadkat concluded his spell with remarkable figures of 1/13 over four overs, while also discussing the team's overall bowling approach.

“The pitch was somewhat sticky at the start, so our plan was to hit the deck and vary our pace. Taking wickets allowed us to maintain control of the game. Our bowlers excelled by keeping things straightforward and adhering to our strategies,” he added.

What Happens if SRH vs DC Match Gets Washed Out Due to Rain?

Strong Bowling Performance by SRH

Together with captain Pat Cummins, who claimed 3 wickets, Unadkat played a pivotal role in restricting Delhi to a mere 133/7. Harshal Patel and Eshan Malinga also contributed with a wicket each. Despite a shaky start at 29/5, Delhi managed to recover, thanks to the efforts of Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma. Stubbs remained not out with a score of 41 off 36 balls, while Sharma contributed 41 runs off 26 balls, helping DC reach a respectable total.

Hyderabad appeared to be on track to chase down the target, but rain intervened, ultimately washing out the match and significantly impacting SRH’s chances for the playoffs.
