Mitchell Marsh Confident in Lucknow Super Giants' Bowling Ahead of Clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad
Marsh Backs LSG's Bowling Attack
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India] - March 27: Mitchell Marsh has shown faith in the Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) bowling unit, despite their current challenges, as they prepare to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), according to reports from a sports media outlet.
LSG kicked off their IPL 2025 journey with a defeat against the Delhi Capitals and are currently without key bowlers Mayank Yadav and Akash Deep, who are both sidelined due to lower-back injuries. Avesh Khan has just returned to the team after recovering from a knee injury, while Mohsin Khan was ruled out prior to the tournament and replaced by Shardul Thakur. Marsh himself is participating as a specialist batter due to his own back issues.
“We have a few players unavailable, but I believe we have put together a strong squad,” Marsh stated ahead of the match against Hyderabad, as reported by the sports media outlet.
“We will eventually have experienced bowlers returning to the team. However, we trust our current bowlers to perform well. I don’t see this as a lack of depth,” he added.
In their last encounter in Hyderabad, SRH successfully chased down a target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs without losing a wicket. They have started this season impressively, scoring 286 for 6 against the Rajasthan Royals.
When asked about LSG's strategy, Marsh said, “Our goal is to score more runs than them.”
“We know they will come at us aggressively. Nowadays, most T20 teams aim to apply pressure from the very first ball. We anticipate being under pressure at some point during the match tomorrow night,” he continued.
“The key for us is to concentrate on our strengths and play our style of cricket. Sunrisers have put many teams under pressure, but that’s the case for any team these days. It seems that a score of 230 is becoming the new benchmark at most venues. We acknowledge their powerful batting lineup, but our focus is on our game and matching their performance,” he concluded.
