Hardik Pandya Struggles Again as MI Faces GT in IPL 2025

Pandya's Early Exit Affects MI's Performance
On May 6, during the IPL 2025 match in Mumbai, Hardik Pandya, the captain of MI, was dismissed cheaply once more by GT's spinner R Sai Kishore. After a single run, Pandya misplayed a sweep shot, resulting in a catch by Shubman Gill, who made an impressive effort running back from first slip.
This dismissal marks a continuation of Pandya's inconsistent performance in IPL 2025, as it was his third score in single digits throughout the tournament. His best showing this season came against the Rajasthan Royals, where he scored an unbeaten 48 runs off just 23 deliveries.

Pandya's early departure allowed the Gujarat Titans to regain momentum in the match. MI had already lost their openers, Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma, but Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav managed to stabilize the innings with a solid 71-run partnership for the third wicket.
However, the spin duo of Sai Kishore and Rashid Khan struck back, dismissing both set batsmen in a single over. Jacks was out for 53 after a sweep shot was caught by Sai Sudharsan at deep backward square, while Yadav, who scored 35, failed to clear the long-off boundary.

With Pandya back in the pavilion, MI's lower order was tasked with the challenge of building a competitive total. GT won the toss and opted to bowl first, and despite being fit, Kagiso Rabada was not included in the starting XI or among the impact players.
