Barca Academy Camps Launch in Major Indian Cities

New Delhi [India], April 8: Registration has commenced for limited spots in Barca camps taking place in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Delhi. Talented participants will have the opportunity to compete for a place in the Barca Academy World Cup 2026, as announced by FC Barcelona.


After a year-long hiatus, the Barca Academy, the official training ground of the prestigious FC Barcelona football club, is making its return to India. The academy has revealed plans to conduct Barca Camps nationwide. These five-day camps present a unique chance for young football enthusiasts in India to receive coaching from FC Barca Academy trainers and the Technical Director, who will be arriving from Barcelona. The camps are scheduled to kick off on June 2 in Ahmedabad, followed by Hyderabad from June 9 to June 13, Bangalore from June 16 to June 20, and concluding in Delhi from June 23 to June 27.


During the Barca Legends Match in Mumbai, Sergi Barjuan, a former captain and current worldwide sporting director of Barca Academy, expressed excitement about returning to India, highlighting its strategic importance. He stated, “We are thrilled to be back in India, a key market for us. The camps will be conducted by our coaches and Technical Director, and we will identify high-performing players for the Barca Academy World Cup in 2026,” as per the release from FC Barcelona.


The Barca Academy football camp is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing grassroots football, which is steadily gaining traction in India. The return of FC Barcelona Academy underscores the immense potential of the country, given its large youth demographic and increasing interest in the sport.


In a remarkable event for Indian sports, Real Madrid Legends triumphed over FC Barcelona Legends with a score of 2-0 on April 6 at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai, reigniting their historic rivalry during the much-anticipated ‘Legends Faceoff’.


The stadium was alive with excitement as thousands of devoted fans filled the stands to witness football legends in action. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with cheers and chants, contributed to the grandeur of this memorable event, according to a press release from a sports media outlet.
