Middle Order Bats- Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma
For the middle order, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma are likely to be picked in the squad for India vs Australia T20I. Kohli has rested in T20Is since the start of this year to manage his workload ahead of the World Cup. However, after the ongoing World Cup, the focus will be on the T20I World Cup next year. Hence, Kohli will return to the T20I squad.

Suryakumar Yadav will be another important member of the team. With 433 runs in 11 games, he is the team's highest run-scorer in the shortest format. Having scored 231 runs in 9 T20Is, left-handed batsman Verma has shown impressive performances in the shorter format.

Wicketkeepers- KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan
KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan will be the two options for the wicketkeeper. KL Rahul has proved that he can be a good choice of wicketkeeper. Ishan Kishan has struggled to score runs in T20Is this year. However, in the absence of Rishabh Pant, he has been among the top wicket keepers for the national team.

All-rounders- Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja
Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the World Cup due to injury but could return before the Australia T20I series. Pandya has led the team in T20Is this year. In 11 matches he has scored 188 runs and also taken 11 wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja will be another all-rounder. With his wicket-taking skills and quick batting, Jadeja has proven himself as a powerful spin all-rounder for India in the current World Cup.

Spinners- Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav
For the spinners, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav could be part of the team. Chahal has been the most successful spinner for India in T20Is this year. The right-arm spinner has taken 11 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of 7.28. Left-arm spinner Yadav has taken 8 wickets in 7 matches at an economy rate of 5.64.

Pacers- Mohammad Siraj, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh
Australia have powerful batsmen in their squad and India will need a lethal pace attack to beat them. Mohammad Siraj and Mohammad Shami will be the first two fast bowlers in the Indian team. While Siraj has been a consistent bowler throughout 2023, Shami has been impressive with his outstanding bowling performances in the ongoing World Cup.

Jasprit Bumrah will be another fast bowler against Australia. Bumrah is back on the field after almost 11 months and needs to be ready for the T20I World Cup as soon as possible. Even after his comeback, Bumrah has shown similar bowling rhythm.
