Tata Harrier EV Launch: Features, Specs, and Pricing Details

Introduction to the Tata Harrier EV

The highly anticipated Tata Harrier EV has officially been launched at a starting price of ₹21.49 lakh. This electric vehicle is set to compete closely with the Creta EV and E-Vitara. Prior to its launch, the Harrier EV was seen undergoing tests while camouflaged. A notable highlight showcased by Tata is the vehicle's all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, which allows for four-wheel drive when needed or continuously.

Battery Specifications and Range

The Tata Harrier EV will be available with two battery options: a 65 kWh battery and a 75 kWh battery. The 75 kWh variant promises an impressive range of approximately 627 km, while the 65 kWh version offers around 480 km. Tata has collaborated with several international suppliers to introduce several segment-first features. Among these is a new E-propulsion system developed in partnership with Schaeffler, providing 304 Nm of torque and a boosted mode for enhanced acceleration, reaching 340 Nm. Additionally, the Harrier will come with a home 7.2 kW charger, and Tata has committed to establishing a wide network of DC chargers that can add 250 km of range in just 15 minutes.

Innovative Features

Tata has meticulously redesigned the Harrier to include a variety of new features that are first in its segment. The vehicle will incorporate advanced ADAS features, including a calibrated lower emergency braking speed, allowing it to stop even at low speeds in emergencies. Furthermore, the Harrier boasts a spacious interior designed for comfort and enhanced connectivity. Collaborating with Samsung and Harman, Tata has integrated a Samsung Neo QLED screen into the cabin, complemented by seven JBL speakers.

In addition to these features, Tata has revamped the key system, enabling users to control vehicle access via their smartphones. The new Harrier EV will also include several autonomous driving capabilities, facilitating easy parking and a 'creep mode' that allows the vehicle to approach the driver remotely.

Stealth Edition and Pricing

In response to the popularity of dark and stealth modes, Tata plans to launch a special stealth edition alongside the standard EV Harrier. While detailed variant pricing has not been disclosed, the introductory price for the Adventure variant is set at ₹21.49 lakh, with bookings scheduled to begin on July 2.
