Mohammad Rafiq Passes Away at 71


Bhubaneswar: Mohammad Rafiq, a prominent leader of the BJP and former Member of the Legislative Assembly, passed away on Friday at a private hospital located in Bargarh district, Odisha. He was 71 years old.


Rafiq represented the Melchamunda constituency in the Odisha Legislative Assembly after being elected in 2004.


Expressing his condolences, Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal highlighted Rafiq's contributions, noting his role as the president of the state BJP Minority Front and vice-president of the Sohela Durgapuja Committee. Samal described Rafiq as a beloved figure among the public due to his humble demeanor and approachable nature.


BJP state general secretary (Organisation) Manas Kumar Mohanty also shared his sorrow regarding Rafiq's passing.
