Rajnath Singh's Strong Message on Terrorism

On Thursday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that the act of killing innocent individuals is characteristic of terrorists, while eliminating them is a duty of India. He emphasized that the armed forces respond to terrorists based on their actions, as these terrorists have targeted innocent people based on their religion, a tactic associated with Pakistan. Speaking at a gathering in the Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar, Singh highlighted that terrorists had asked innocent individuals about their 'religion' before attacking them in Pahalgam. He remarked, 'The world witnessed the response we provided. We acted against the terrorists based on their actions, as they targeted innocents based on their religion, which is Pakistan's modus operandi. We eliminated them based on their actions, which is our Indian duty.'

A Messenger of Hope

The Defence Minister conveyed that he is a messenger bringing goodwill from the entire nation to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He stated, 'Besides being the Defence Minister, I am here as a messenger, carrying the best wishes, prayers, and gratitude from the entire country. In a way, I have come to you as a postman, delivering a message from the world – that we take pride in our armed forces.' This visit marks his first trip to Jammu and Kashmir following the Pahalgam terrorist attack and Operation Sindoor.

India's Commitment to Peace and Security

Rajnath Singh asserted that the global community recognizes India's commitment to peace. He noted that India has never been an advocate for war, but when the sovereignty of the nation is threatened, a response becomes necessary. He expressed that the armed forces and soldiers are viewed with respect across the country. A strong nation is one that provides its military with both respect and the modern weapons and equipment they require. Singh expressed pride in the government's efforts to support the armed forces, highlighting the significant improvements in connectivity along the LAC and LoC that have never been seen before.
