Protests Against Turkey's Support for Pakistan

The Swadeshi Jagran Manch recently organized a protest march against Turkey in response to its support for Pakistan during the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Demonstrators were halted by police en route to the Turkish embassy in New Delhi. Authorities detained members of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch in Chanakyapuri, who were heading towards the Turkish embassy to express their dissent against Turkey's backing of Pakistan amid the ongoing conflict.

In light of the recent armed conflict involving India, the country has canceled trips to popular tourist destinations in Turkey and Azerbaijan due to their support for Pakistan. Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and the rising tensions, there has been a growing call in India to boycott both Turkey and Azerbaijan for their public endorsement of Pakistan.

During the conflict, Pakistan reportedly attempted to target Indian military establishments using Turkish drones. Both Turkey and Azerbaijan have criticized India's attacks on terrorist bases in Pakistan and its occupied territories. India's exports to Turkey were valued at $5.2 billion from April 2024 to February 2025, down from $6.65 billion in 2023-24, representing only 1.5% of India's total exports of $437 billion.

Meanwhile, India's exports to Azerbaijan during the same period were just $8.6 million, a slight decrease from $8.96 million in 2023-24, accounting for only 0.02% of total exports. Imports from Turkey were $2.84 billion from April 2024 to February 2025, down from $3.78 billion in 2023-24, making up 0.5% of India's total imports of $720 billion. Imports from Azerbaijan were valued at $19.3 million during the same timeframe, a negligible amount compared to the previous year's $740,000, which was only 0.0002% of total imports.
