Major Development Initiatives Unveiled
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for 15 development projects in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, with a total investment of ₹47,600 crores. During his address, Modi mentioned that this development program was initially scheduled for April 24 but had to be postponed due to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the tragic loss of Shubham Dwivedi, a local resident. He expressed that the pain and anger felt by Shubham's daughter, Aishanya, resonated with everyone, highlighting the broader emotional impact of such tragedies.
A Strong Message Against Terrorism
Modi passionately stated that the outrage of our sisters and daughters was evident to the world during Operation Sindoor. He emphasized that India has successfully targeted terrorist hideouts deep within Pakistan, showcasing the bravery of the Indian armed forces, which compelled the Pakistani military to plead for a ceasefire. He reiterated his salute to the valor of the armed forces from the land of the freedom struggle, warning that the operation against terrorism is far from over.
India's Stance on Terrorism
The Prime Minister outlined three clear principles in India's fight against terrorism: First, India will respond decisively to every terrorist attack, determining the timing, method, and conditions independently. Second, India will no longer be intimidated by threats of nuclear weapons. Third, both state and non-state actors supporting terrorism will be viewed with the same scrutiny. Modi asserted that the era of Pakistan's dual strategy of state-sponsored terrorism is over, declaring that the enemy will be dealt with decisively.
Self-Reliance in Defense
Modi claimed that Operation Sindoor demonstrated the effectiveness of India's indigenous weapons and the Make in India initiative. He noted that Indian-made weapons, including the BrahMos missile, have successfully struck targets within enemy territory. This capability stems from India's commitment to becoming self-reliant in defense, a necessity for both the economy and national pride. He highlighted the transformation of seven old ordnance factories into modern defense manufacturing units, emphasizing the growing presence of major defense companies in Uttar Pradesh.
