Bumrah's Role in the Upcoming Series

Following the announcement of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming Test series against England, Ajit Agarkar, the chief selector of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), shared insights regarding the participation of right-arm fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

Bumrah is expected to spearhead the bowling attack during the series in England, accompanied by fellow seamers Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, and Shardul Thakur.

During a press briefing, Agarkar mentioned, "According to the physiotherapists and doctors, it seems unlikely that he will be available for all five Tests. They will determine if he can play in 3-4 matches. If he can participate in that number, he could be pivotal in securing victories for us. We are pleased to have him in the squad."

New Leadership for the Indian Team

In a significant development, Shubman Gill has been appointed as the new Test captain for India, with Rishabh Pant taking on the role of vice-captain for the highly anticipated five-match Test series against England.

The Indian cricket team is scheduled to tour England in 2025 for a five-match Test series, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship for 2025-2027.
