Rising Tensions Between Iran and the US

The ongoing friction between Iran and the United States has now escalated into a war of words. This time, the focus is on a nickname for President Donald Trump, which he did not create himself but was given by others. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticized Israel, stating that it has sought refuge with 'Daddy' to avoid Iranian missiles.

This 'Daddy' refers to Trump, who was recently addressed by this moniker during a NATO summit. The situation intensified after Trump used offensive language on live television regarding Israel and Iran, which has drawn ire from Iran. Araghchi warned the US that if it does not improve its rhetoric, Iran will not hesitate to showcase its true strength.

Respect for Khamenei is Essential

Araghchi made it clear that if the US is genuinely serious about the nuclear deal, it must use respectful language towards Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Disrespecting the sentiments of Khamenei's millions of supporters could eliminate any chance of a deal. This statement was a direct response to Trump's social media post, where he claimed to have spared Khamenei's life.

No Progress on Nuclear Agreement?

Trump asserted that he was considering lifting some sanctions on Iran, but after the Iranian response, he halted all efforts. Conversely, Iran has dismissed these claims, stating that it will not resume any negotiations with the US.
