KL Rahul's Insights on Day 3 of the Third Test

On July 13, during the ongoing Test series in England, KL Rahul, India's experienced opener, shared his reflections after the team failed to gain an advantage on Day 3 at Lord's, famously known as the 'Home of Cricket'.

India concluded their innings at 387, matching England's total. Key contributors for the Shubman Gill-led squad included Rahul himself, who scored 100 runs off 177 balls, alongside Rishabh Pant with 74 runs from 112 balls, and Ravindra Jadeja, who added 72 runs in 131 balls.

In the post-match press conference, Rahul expressed his disappointment, stating, "We were in a strong position, especially before tea. Rishabh and I had a solid partnership, but both of us got out at crucial moments. Ideally, one of us should have converted our starts into a bigger score to help us take control of the match."

He further elaborated on the team's missed chances, saying, "Many of us got starts but failed to convert them into significant scores, which could have given us an edge in the match. As it stands, the game is quite balanced."

Rahul also discussed Pant's unfortunate dismissal just before lunch, which occurred due to a brilliant run-out executed by England's captain, Ben Stokes. "I had mentioned to Rishabh that I wanted to reach my hundred before lunch. Unfortunately, I hit the ball straight to the fielder instead of finding the boundary. That run-out shifted the momentum, and it was disappointing for both of us," he concluded.
