Traditional makhana kheer is enjoyed on fasting days and during special occasions like Ramadan. This makhana kheer recipe will help you make sweets at home quickly. All you need is condensed milk and a few other kitchen staples to bring out the authentic taste and texture of the pudding.
HOW TO MAKE MAKHANA KHEER
.Fry the makhana in ghee and crush coarsely. Mix makhana powder and milk in a pan and cook on low heat for 5-10 minutes. Add the grated coconut and continue to cook for another few .minutes, stirring frequently, until creamy and slightly thickened.
.Add the Nestle Milkmaid and cook for another 5 minutes or until you reach the desired consistency.
.Remove from heat and add cardamom powder. Garnish with chopped almonds and raisins and serve hot or cold.
Tips
.Try to use a heavy bottomed pan while cooking the dish. You can also use a deep, non-stick pan. Just wash it with water and boil it for two to three minutes. The water forms a barrier .between the milk and the pan, preventing the milk from burning.
.Use whole or full-fat milk for a rich, creamy consistency.
.Stir the dish occasionally to prevent the milk from sticking to the bottom of the pan or browning.
.You can adjust the amount of nuts, dry fruits and flavorings as you like. You can also flavor your pudding with other ingredients like rose or kevra water.
.Do not leave the pudding at room temperature for more hours to avoid spoilage.
