Ramnavami 2023 : Add Sweetness to Your Ram Navami Festivities with These Easy Prasad Recipes

With the auspicious festival of Ram Navami here, it is the perfect time to perform Ram Puja and seek his blessings for the coming year. Many people prepare prasad at home and distribute it to others after worship. Prasad on Ram Navami usually includes Pankam, Sesame Halwa, Kale Channe and Coconut Barfi. If you are also looking for easy to make prasad recipes, here are some quick recipes that you can easily make at home.
Pankam
Add 1 cup jaggery and 5 cups water in a pot. Mix well and soak jaggery for 20 minutes. Now stir well to ensure that it dissolves completely.
Now add ½ teaspoon each – black pepper powder, cardamom powder, ginger powder and salt. Extract the juice of one lemon in a pot and mix everything well.
Finally, add a handful of tulsi/basil leaves, stir gently and serve. You can chill the drink before serving as prasad or add ice cubes as needed.
Sooji Halwa

Heat a pan on low heat and add half a cup of ghee. When the ghee melts completely, add 1 cup of semolina and fry until light brown.
Meanwhile, heat another pan over low heat. Add little to it and let it boil.
When the semolina turns golden-brown, add a pinch of green cardamom powder and sugar to taste. Stir well. Now add water as required and keep stirring continuously. Cook and stir until the sooji thickens to make halwa. Finally garnish it with almonds and serve hot.
Sookhe Kale Channe
First wash and soak 1 cup of Kale Chana in water for at least 6-8 hours or overnight.
Now drain the water and add the chen to the pressure cooker. Add one cup of water, half teaspoon of turmeric, 1 teaspoon of red chili powder and salt to taste. Cook for two whistles and then let the pressure release on its own.
Now heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds and ½ tsp asafoetida. Fry for a minute. Now add 1 tsp each - dry mango powder, coriander powder, chana masala, chopped green chillies and grated ginger. Allow the spices to steep for a minute.
Put the cooked chickpeas in the pan. Cook for a while until the remaining water evaporates.
Serve dry kale chana with some semolina halwa as prasad.
