Actors Randeep Hooda and Lin Leshram tied the knot in a traditional meitei wedding on Wednesday. Randeep took to Instagram to share photos from the wedding held in Imphal and wrote, "From today, we are one ♥️♾️#JustMarried."
Videos of Randeep's procession with bands and baratis surfaced on social media platforms, capturing the celebrations. News agency ANI shared a clip, noting, “Actor Randeep Hooda and Lynn Leshram are getting married today in Imphal, Manipur. Scenes from the venue as the rituals continue.
Visuals from Chumthang Shannapung Resort in Imphal where the wedding ceremonies took place have also surfaced on X. In the video, Randeep is seen worshiping at the ceremony.
Bride Lin Leshram looked resplendent in the traditional Manipuri bridal attire, the potloi, also called polloi, a cylindrical skirt made of strong fabric and bamboo. She was accompanied by her family members. Take a look:
In another video, Lin is seen performing traditional rituals as she smiles at Randeep during the ceremony. Friends and family members of the couple are also seen congratulating them at the ceremony.
Earlier, Randeep Hooda talked about getting married to Lin Leshram following the Manipuri tradition. He told ANI, “Feels great. I thought it was respectable to get married in the bride's tradition. Although I have heard that the groom has to sit for a long time in Meitei love marriage. So, it is something but I am looking forward to the ceremonies and traditions. I want to experience my partner's culture. That's why I'm here."
The actor added that he has only two wishes as he embarks on a whole new phase of life - lots of children and abundance. He said, “We have been talking about Manipuri culture for a long time. I pray for many children and a happy future filled with abundance. I love that we are taking our friendship further and becoming a family.
Randeep also shared the details of how he and Lynn met. “We have been friends for a very long time. We have a good friendship since we met,” he said. “We met in Naseeruddin Shah's theater group called Motley. He was my senior there," Lynn added.
Randeep Hooda and Lynne Leshram announced their marriage on Instagram. They shared a statement that read, “Taking a leaf from the Mahabharata where Arjun married the Manipuri warrior princess Chitrangada, we are getting married with the blessings of our family and friends. As we embark on this journey, we seek your blessings and love for this union of cultures, for which we are eternally indebted and grateful.”
