Applying for a Passport in India
To obtain a passport in India, you must apply at a Passport Seva Kendra. The process involves scheduling an appointment, completing paperwork, and undergoing verification before the passport is issued. However, if you have an appointment scheduled for the next few days, you might face some inconvenience.
Passport Portal Closure Notice
From August 30 to September 2, the Passport Seva Portal will be closed. During this period, any appointments or applications for passports will be affected. The portal will be unavailable from 8:00 PM on August 29 until the morning of September 2. This means you will need to reschedule your appointment if it falls within this timeframe.
Reason for the Closure
The closure is due to scheduled technical maintenance, which will impact not only the Passport Seva Kendra but also Regional Passport Offices, the Ministry of External Affairs, and police verification services. As a result, no passport-related services will be accessible during these five days.
