Free Aadhaar Update Extension

The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has confirmed this extension through their official Twitter handle, stating that the deadline for free Aadhaar updates has been extended to September 14, 2024. Initially, this deadline was set for June 14, 2024. It’s important to note that this free update service is available exclusively through the My Aadhaar portal. Updates made at Aadhaar centers will still incur a fee.
 


Required Documents for Aadhaar Update

  • Proof of Identity: You can use your PAN card as a proof of identity.
  • Proof of Address: A voter ID card can be used to verify your address.

How to Update Aadhaar Online

  1. Visit the UIDAI Official Website: Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
  2. Select ‘Update Aadhaar’: Look for and click on the “Update Aadhaar” option.
  3. Enter Your Aadhaar Number and OTP: Input your Aadhaar number and the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  4. Click on Document Update: Choose the option to update your documents and verify the details.
  5. Upload Documents: Use the dropdown menu to upload scanned copies of your identity and address proof documents.
  6. Submit the Request: Click the “Submit” button. You will receive a request number upon submission.
  7. Check Update Status: Use the request number to track the status of your Aadhaar update online.
