The Delhi Metro has become the backbone of public transport in Delhi and the surrounding NCR region, with millions of commuters relying on it daily for travel between their homes and workplaces, as well as for leisure trips. Since its launch in 2002, the Delhi Metro has significantly expanded, covering almost every corner of Delhi and NCR.

In response to growing demand, the Delhi Metro’s ticketing system has evolved over the years. While tokens were once the primary method of fare payment, QR code tickets have now taken center stage. Though the traditional Metro Smart Cards are still in use, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has now introduced the Multiple Journey QR Ticket—a new, user-friendly option that makes daily commutes even more convenient.

What is the Multiple Journey QR Ticket?

Previously, Delhi Metro travelers without a Smart Card had to purchase a QR code ticket for every journey. These tickets could be purchased online or from Metro ticket counters. However, with the introduction of the Multiple Journey QR Ticket, commuters no longer need to worry about buying a new QR ticket for each trip.

DMRC has launched this new system, allowing passengers to use a QR code multiple times, similar to how they would use a Smart Card. The Momentum 2.0 app, also known as Delhi Sarathi, now enables users to buy and recharge their Multiple Journey QR Ticket easily.

To purchase and use the Multiple Journey QR Ticket, passengers need to download the Momentum 2.0 (Delhi Sarathi) app. Here are the steps:

  2. Pay a starting fee of ₹150 to buy the QR code.
  3. The money loaded onto the QR code can be used for future travels.
  4. You can recharge the QR code with a minimum of ₹50 and up to a maximum of ₹3,000.
  5. Recharging can be done using UPI, credit card, or debit card.

Once recharged, simply scan the QR code from your phone at the Metro gates to travel with ease.

Similar to the Metro Smart Card, users of the Multiple Journey QR Ticket are eligible for discounts during specific hours of the day. Here are the details:
