Tiger Attack Claims Life of Caretaker in Ranthambore Reserve

Tragic Incident in Ranthambore
A tragic event unfolded in Rajasthan's Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, where a 60-year-old man lost his life due to a tiger attack. This marks the third such incident in under two months.
Victim Identified as Temple Caretaker
The deceased, identified as Radheshyam, served as a caretaker for a Jain temple located within Ranthambore Fort. Reports indicate that he was attacked by the tiger while he had stepped away to relieve himself.
According to officials from the Tiger Reserve, the attack occurred around 4:30 AM. Although two guards heard his cries for help, they were unable to intervene in time.
Gruesome Details of the Attack
The official noted that Radheshyam suffered severe injuries to his neck, and the tiger had partially consumed his body, specifically around the thigh and buttocks.
In response to the incident, the Ranthambore Reserve administration has set up cameras to track the tiger involved. They have also collected hair samples from the scene to assist in identifying the animal.
Community Outrage
In the wake of this tragedy, local residents organized a protest, blocking the Sawai Madhopur-Kundera road, expressing their anger towards the administration for perceived negligence.
Another Fatal Attack in Uttarakhand
Earlier in May, a similar incident occurred in Uttarakhand's Jim Corbett National Park, where a man named Vinod was killed by a tiger while gathering wood. Witnesses reported that the tiger attacked him and dragged him into the forest. The Divisional Forest Officer confirmed that locals alerted authorities after witnessing the attack, and the victim's body was later discovered approximately 100 meters from the attack site.
