In a significant effort to combat illegal mining, the Nurpur Police have executed a substantial operation, confiscating four vehicles involved in unauthorized excavation that threatened public safety.



  • Action at Nagrota Surian Police Post:
    During a raid near the railway bridge, police teams uncovered a JCB machine (JK14L-1178) and a tractor (JK19A-7006) engaged in illegal mining activities. The excavation was jeopardizing the bridge's structural integrity. Both vehicles were promptly seized and charged under the Mining Act.

  • Incident in Guhan Area:
    A tractor (HP97A-4715) was apprehended while conducting illegal mining in the khad and was immediately impounded.

  • Swift Action at Sadwan Police Post:
    Responding to a report of illegal mining at the khad's entrance, police teams intercepted a tractor (HP38J-2209) involved in excavation. The vehicle was seized, charged, and the case has been referred to the Hon’ble ACJM Court in Nurpur.


Overall, four vehicles have been charged and confiscated during this operation.


The Nurpur Police have reiterated that illegal activities damaging government property will face zero tolerance, and strict measures will be enforced against offenders in the future.
