Police Operation Targets Narcotics in Nurpur

In a proactive effort to combat drug-related issues, the police in Nurpur district executed an unannounced inspection near HDFC Bank located in Ward No. 2. This operation led to the arrest of two suspects:



  • Munish Kumar, son of the late Somraj, a resident of Ward No. 2, close to HDFC Bank, Nurpur

  • Joginder Singh, son of Dharmu Ram, hailing from Languta village in Bharmour tehsil, Chamba district


Authorities recovered 315 capsules of Preglavine (Preglavin) from the individuals' possession.


This operation was a collaborative effort between the district police and the Drug Inspector. Initial investigations indicated that the storage and distribution of the confiscated medications violated the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.


Due to the gravity of the situation, the Drug Inspector has commenced a thorough investigation, with further legal actions anticipated.


Officials have urged the community to refrain from buying or selling medications without proper licensing and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or relevant authorities.
