Significant Drug Seizure in Nurpur


In a notable achievement under the ongoing ‘Drug-Free Himachal Campaign’, the CIA team from Nurpur Police made a significant arrest at the Kandwal police barrier. During a routine inspection, officers stopped an HRTC bus and apprehended a 19-year-old passenger found with 10.16 grams of heroin, commonly referred to as chitta.


On July 21, 2026, at approximately 1:50 PM, the bus (HP 31 A 8869) traveling from Pathankot was halted for a check. A young man appeared nervous upon noticing the police presence and attempted to exit the bus. The team acted quickly, detaining him and conducting a search in front of witnesses, which led to the discovery of a clear plastic packet containing heroin in his pocket.


Additionally, authorities confiscated a bus ticket from Pathankot to Shahpur and a Lava 5G smartphone belonging to the suspect.
