Tragic Incident on Majitha Road Bypass

Chandigarh: A suspected Khalistani militant lost his life in an explosion while attempting to collect explosive materials from an abandoned site along the Majitha road bypass in Amritsar, Punjab, on Tuesday morning, according to police reports.

The blast, which occurred around 9:30 AM, was so powerful that it severed both of the man's arms.

Deputy Inspector General (Border Range) Satinder Singh indicated that the individual may have connections to a terrorist group, potentially Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

The man was reportedly in the area to retrieve explosives when the incident occurred.

Singh informed the media that the explosives were in the man's possession at the time of the explosion.

Authorities are currently working to establish the identity of the deceased and the specific terrorist organization he was affiliated with.

The DIG noted that the man has not yet been identified, but evidence suggests he was involved with a terrorist group.

Police discovered significant clues in the man's pockets that hint at his connections to a terror outfit.

A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory is examining the scene to determine whether the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) or a grenade.

Amritsar Rural Senior Superintendent of Police Maninder Singh stated that the explosion likely resulted from mishandling of the explosives.

Residents reported hearing a loud explosion, which caused panic in the vicinity, prompting police to secure the area.

The DIG reassured the public, urging them to remain calm and promising that the investigation would lead to a resolution.
