Haryana Blogger Arrested for Allegedly Sharing Sensitive Information with Pakistan

Jyoti Rani, the daughter of Harish Kumar from Hisar, Haryana, has come under scrutiny for allegedly providing sensitive information to Pakistan. Reports indicate that she met with a Pakistani official named Ahsan-ur-Rahim in Delhi, made two trips to Pakistan, and shared confidential details. A case has been registered against her under relevant sections of the law. Jyoti Malhotra, a travel blogger, was apprehended after admitting to sharing sensitive information with Pakistani operatives. She faces charges under Sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act of 1923 and Section 152 of the Indian Penal Code. Currently, she is in police custody for five days.

 

Vikas Kumar, a spokesperson for the Hisar police, confirmed her arrest and stated that officials are conducting further inquiries to gather more information. An FIR was lodged at the Hisar Civil Lines police station based on a complaint from Sub-Inspector Sanjay. According to the FIR, the blogger visited the Pakistani High Commission in Delhi in 2023, where she came into contact with a staff member, Ahsan-ur-Rahim, also known as Danish.

 

The FIR details that the woman disclosed her ongoing communication with Ahsan-ur-Rahim, and during her visit to Pakistan in 2023, she met with Ali Ehwan, who facilitated her stay and travel in Pakistan. Ehwan allegedly introduced her to Pakistani security and intelligence officials, including Shakir and Rana Shahbaz. The police report mentions that the blogger saved Shakir's contact under the name 'Jatt Randhawa' to avoid suspicion. After returning from Pakistan in 2023, she maintained contact with all operatives through encrypted platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Snapchat.

 

Jyoti Malhotra reportedly visited Pakistan twice in 2023. She operates a YouTube channel called 'Travel with Jo' and is believed to be part of a network operating in Haryana and Punjab, where key members act as agents, financial intermediaries, and informants. Danish, who has been declared an undesirable person by the Indian government and is set to be deported on May 13, 2025, allegedly introduced Jyoti to several Pakistani intelligence officers.
